Description of Degree Curriculum:
The Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies prepares you for either advanced study or entry-level professional positions. Courses in the program provide a liberal and intercultural education, with opportunities to focus on a concentration within a discipline; to further develop skill in critical thinking; and to deepen your competencies in interpersonal, oral, written, quantitative and technology-based skills.
You may choose a concentration from any of the following Alliant majors:
• Business
• Communication: Marketing Public Relations
• International Relations
• Psychology
In addition to these concentrations, a new program, which could be implemented as early as Spring 2007, is being developed to prepare students to become students for middle school teaching in the area of English and mathematics. The development of this program is in response to the growing need to middle school teachers, especially in math and in English language development. See Rebecca Nieboer, Academic Advisor in the CUE, for further information.
